Ropeway work to begin in October

Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (GTDC) has said that the work on Panaji and Reis Magos ropeway project will begin in October 2017 and will take 24 months to complete. The project in phase-1 is between Panaji and Reis Magos, while the subsequent phases of the project will stretch to Aguada fort, where the Government is currently undertaking development activities including renovation of Aguada Central Jail and Light house for attracting tourists. Royal Rides Pvt. Ltd. (Royal Rides), Special Purpose Vehicle incorporated by Menus Adventures Pvt. Ltd., is the concessionaire for development, operations and maintenance of the Goa ropeway project.

Parrikar for feasibility study on cable car

Chief Minister Manohar Parikkar stated that the State Government may conduct feasibility study on the ropeway / cable car concept as part of comprehensive mobility plan for the State. The Government is working on comprehensive mobility plan for Goa which includes multiple modes of transport like ropeway, buses etc. Royal Rides Pvt. Ltd. Gadkari announces electric ropeway from Mormugao to Mopa

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari announced the construction of a ropeway from Mormugao port to Mopa in order to facilitate tourists travel from Dabolim Airport to the propoed International Airport at Mopa in Pernem taluka. Gadkari said the proposal is being examined by the Central Government. In phase-1, the ropeway project is getting ready between Panjim and Reis Magos and it may extend to cover the key coastal locations in its subsequent phases to enable smooth public transportation. IPB in-principle OKs 15 projects, defers 19 others

The Investment Promotion Board (IPB) in its 14th meeting cleared 15 projects of the 34 proposals, which were up for its approval. From employment view point, the most important project IPB cleared was Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (GTDC)’s project for development of passenger ropeway and allied tourism activities between Panaji and Reis Magos, which is set to create 700 jobs. Royal Rides Pvt. Ltd. IPB clears 15 projects worth Rs 885 Crore in investment

Investment Facilitation and Promotion Board has cleared the passenger ropeway project between Panjim and Reis Magos covering a distance of 1240 m. over River Mandovi. GTDC Chairman Mr. Nilesh Cabral said he is willing to go and be part of the presentation at the CCP and convince them that it was safe and it would not result in any traffic congestion.

IPB meet: Hospitality projects to hog limelight

Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) is presenting the prestigious passenger ropeway project between Panjim and Reis Magos to Investment Facilitation and Promotion Board (IPB) for its approval. The project has significant employment potential of 700 jobs and will need an investment of more than Rs. 100 Crore.
The other projects which will presented before IPB are hospitality projects mainly resort of hotels, and hospital projects at various locations in Goa. Royal Rides Pvt. Ltd. GTDC assures to obtain all permissions for ropeway. Says project will generate revenue for CCP; only soil testing being undertaken at the moment

Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) assured Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) that the drawings and plans will be submitted to the CCP for approval, and GTDC will obtain all necessary permissions and clearances as mandated by law and will take CCP into confidence and obtain necessary permissions before actual commencement of work on site.
The ropeway project is executed by Menus Adventures Pvt. Ltd. through Royal Rides Pvt. Ltd. GTDC reiterated that the company is only undertaking soil testing at the site, so as to enable to prepare detailed drawings and structural designs for the project and no other work is being carried out at this stage.

Will get clearance from CCP for ropeway: GTDC

Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) said it will obtain all necessary clearances and permissions as mandated by law for the ropeway project proposed from Reis Magos to Panaji and it will take the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) into confidence before actual commencement of work on site.

Govt. plans ropeway at Vagator

The tourism department plans to have ropeway from Vagator to Chapora fort after the Reis Magos ropeway project is complete. After phase-1 from Panjim to Reis Magos, the ropeway project may extend to various key coastal locations in the State like Candolim, Calangute, Baga etc. catering to both tourism and public transportation purposes.
